Efficient Heating

The heating of various parts of the stick is performed at various times and temperatures to make the aerosol last longer.  The heating device is programmed to heat tobacco/botanical and the e-liquid to different temperatures and times.

Segmented Heating

E-liquid is stored on fibrous cellulose substrates in multiple segments. The e-liquid segments are heated one at a time successively to generate consistently flavored pre-set number of puffs from each e-liquid segment. In current heat-not-burn and e-cigarette products the e-liquid degrades due to prolonged overheating. This mode of selective heating can also lead to improved battery life.

Reduced Harmful and Potentially Harmful Constituents (HPHCs)

Tobacco/botanicals and e-liquid are heated separately to maximize flavor while minimizing harmful chemical formation. In tobacco HPHC formation is a function of temperature. At temperatures approximately above 150 Deg C tobacco starts generating HPHCs. When heating other botanicals, the chosen heating temperature should maximize the formation of the desired active chemical compound(s) while minimizing or eliminating the formation of harmful chemicals.
